wha-?

Over on the Morning News, Elizabeth Kiem dashes my hopes of getting a free copy of The Savage Detectives.

Coarse playfulness? What year is this? That sounds like such an old thing to say. Everything I'm reading on the internet is utterly baffling today.

elizabeth kiem is clearly a semi-literate moron. in fact, THE SAVAGE DETECTIVES demands no fewer than two readings. (& to imagine hollywood actors in one's mind while reading is to be engaged by perhaps the most insipid form of enslavement, except for maybe the delusion that writing about doing so is arch & sophisticated.)

Oh, it'll come back. It has to be one of the titles that gets a free pass back into the competition.

If it doesn't, I'll send you a copy.
