I'd like to comment on the post titled "FT Weekend," which for some reason has disappeared (either Google Reader is going nuts or ... who knows!).
At the risk of offending, I have often wondered myself why being a veteran of military service, or even an active duty service member (that's the current term in the USA) warrants a protective bubble of educational, medical and social service assistance that is not provided to anyone else who renders service to the national community. This is to say nothing about whether it is really a service to any nation to go out and kill other people.
