Endangered Languages Week

The Endangered Languages Project at SOAS is holding Endangered Languages Week starting April 30, something to look into for those in the London area. The Project has its own website with a checklist for What is Your Language Footprint? Its recommendations for action struck this reader as singularly ineffectual, but others may be more optimistic.

Whoa. This claim is heavy "If we are not successful, the result will be even more serious than global warming; everyone will lose the opportunity to take part in mankind’s cultural heritage because most of humanity’s accumulated knowledge of history and the planet will be erased forever." Somewhat exaggerated, methinks.
